Some of these are affiliate links where I have one.

Getting Bitcoin

  1. Swan Bitcoin, one of the best Dollar Cost Average (DCA) platforms out there. https://www.swanbitcoin.com/crc32
  2. Strike, possibly the easiest and cheapest way to get bitcoin, and send to others. $5 for signing up with my code: 8JZ9XT https://invite.strike.me/8JZ9XT
  3. Cash App, not the best or cheapest, but easy to use https://cash.app
  4. Fold Card, a prepaid debit card to earn bitcoin on every-day purchases. https://use.foldapp.com/r/CVLVFNUU
  5. River Financial, another low-fee place to buy Bitcoin https://river.com/signup?r=WBG4T5EB

Holding Bitcoin

Software Wallets

  1. BlueWallet, good basic wallet for iOS or Android. Can do both Lightning and On-Chain. https://bluewallet.io
  2. Breez Wallet, in beta (as of 2021-10-06), but extremely easy Lightning wallet. Has a good Point-Of-Sale mode as well. https://breez.technology/
  3. Muun Wallet https://muun.com/

Hardware Wallets

Always buy hardware wallets directly from the manufacturer. Otherwise you can’t be sure the device hasn’t been tampered with.

  1. BitBox02, my favorite hardware wallet, but no iOS app. https://shiftcrypto.ch/guy
  2. Ledger, also extremely easy to use, has an iOS app. https://www.ledger.com/
  3. Trezor, another perennial favorite. https://trezor.io/
  4. ColdCard, a great wallet, but harder to use, better for more advanced users. https://coinkite.com/

The Bitcoin Whitepaper

Satoshi Nakamoto’s initial description of Bitcoin is the most important document in the history of Bitcoin — it is the document that started everything, after all! However, it is a highly technical piece, and is not the best place for most people to start. https://crc32.com/bitcoin.pdf
